The Preparation Guidance for cbse ugc home science

Ms.Preetika Sharma (Faculty Home Science) Asstt. Professor , Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana

The Preparation Guidance
With CBSE-NET just a few days away, it is the time to finalize the preparation and give a boost to the revision and consolidation schedule.  Management of anxiety and study hours now holds the key to give the final shape to the preparation. To help the CBSE-NET Home Science aspirants, Mantram talked to Ms. Preetika Sharma. Presently Ms. Sharma is Faculty Home Science,  Assistant Professor, Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana.

Here is what Ms. Sharma suggested to the aspirants...

Hello Aspirants,

Troubled with never ending eligibility criteria on the job front? Well! It’s good to go. At least for the Home Science brigade (wink). At the first place, be proud that you are a part of this brigade. Home Science or Home Economics as it is called on the international front is a very diverse subject consisting of comprehensive details on almost any subject you name. Lucky, that we are spared the intense calculations of Mathematics. The major areas being Food and Nutrition, Human Development, Clothing and Textiles and Family Resource Management. Apart from this subjects like Communication and Extension Education, Research Methodology and Scientific Writing also form an integral part of the curriculum.

Aiming CBSE-NET (Home Science), there is no subject that you can skip. The entire content is important. This is not to be feared about. The only step to it is management of time and content.
  • Identify the pattern of exam: Look out in the previous question papers for the pattern of questions asked in the examination. This will help you in studying with focus. More so, the subject content can also be covered in this manner.
  • Long live the text books: But not for this competition. Practically, it is impossible to track down each and every subject book in much detail. The time for exam preparation is not to study hard, but to study smart.
  • Time management: Well, 6-7 hours of sincere self-study can get you through. These numbers are not here to scare the hell out of you. A normal adult has about 20 minutes of attention span. So relax! Take short breaks and study well.
