Teacher
Eligibility Test conducted
Central Teacher Eligibility Test was
held in the city on Sunday. Two papers were conducted in the test; one was for
qualifying teaching eligibility for class 1 to 5 while the other paper was for
qualifying teaching eligibility for class 6 to 8.
The response to the paper was found to
be mixed. Some candidates found the paper difficult while for others paper was
easy. Lokesh Puri, a candidate who appeared in the exam said, “I found language
section quite difficult in the exam especially questions in Hindi.” While
Garima said, “I think paper was as per my expectations and I am hoping to
qualify the exam.”
“The level of exam is getting higher and
higher and is becoming difficult for candidates to clear it. Like other
competitive exams, more and more candidates are looking for guidance and
coaching for clearing the exam,” said Manish Bansal, director, Mantram Study
Group. He also said that keeping in mind the difficulties of candidates from
Economically Weaker Section, his institute would be giving 50% discount on fee
of next coaching session for CTET.
In the last years, very few candidates
have been able clear the exam. CTET is conducted by central government for
recruitment of teachers in central government schools for class I to VIII. CTET
was made compulsory for teachers in central government schools after the
passing of Right to Education Act, 2009. The Test is conducted twice a year.
